A Little Bit About Me...

I have had many experiences in education both during and after my college education. I have been put into many situations that have required using much of the curriculum content, classroom management, and lesson plan developing skills that I have acquired. I have a major in science, but I also have extensive mathematical skills due to the many math classes I have taken for my BS and while currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Accounting. I have had the opportunity to tutor students in math, science, reading, writing, and social studies.

I love teaching because I love passing on knowledge. I believe anyone can learn anything they want, it just takes us all different lengths of time and effort to achieve our educational goals. As a tutor and a TA I was always trying to rethink my presentation of the material when the students seemed confused. We all think about math in slightly different ways, so I was always trying to adapt my explanations to their style of thinking. I am patient, easy-going, friendly, and reliable. A Little Bit About Me...

I have earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Science from Grand Valley State University in 2008, and has equipped me with the knowledge of many applications of biological and physical sciences. I worked in a research lab in college and was responsible for training new students. In addition I acted as the supervisor of the laboratory for a group of high school interns, working to advise them on their research projects and educate them on basic laboratory protocols. After graduation, I accepted a job where I acted as a laboratory manager, directly training new staff laboratory techniques.
