As a graduate I have done tutoring to enhance my credibility to teach possibly in the future with my major in criminal justice. I'm currently enrolled for my Masters in criminal justice and criminology, and I plan to futher my education to teach within that field. During the last past 3 summers I have tutored young children as well as been a mentor to their studies. I enjoy working in this field of study, and plan to continue to do so. As stated above I enjoy working with children of all ages, I have made a difference in their lives as well as them making a difference in my life. I hold a BS degree in Mathematics from Salisbury University, where I regularly tutored my peers in various math subjects, physics, and chemistry. I also studied Spanish, with which I can still carry a basic conversation. I also taught English to Spanish-speaking immigrants through the Worcester County Board of Education for about 6 months. I love to see a person understand something they have been trying so hard to understand. I know that all people are going to learn differently and that I have to determine how a particular person learns. I am a very patient person, and I know that if a person is not understanding a subject, I just need to find another way to explain it. Every student has the capability to learn.

While completing my masters in Special Education, I have learned creative ways to help children with special needs that I work with. I have designed and coordinated a Resource Center to help students with special needs learn and achieve at their level. I have also designed and implemented a school for children with special needs. I believe that every child has a right to learn. I believe that, no matter what kind of problem or learning disability that student has, that he/she deserves to learn. It is the responsibility, not only of the teacher, but the parents, grandparents, siblings and community to help children receive the best education that they can. I have earned a Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering and working on my Master's degree in Engineering Management. Both degrees have helped me gain knowledge in math, science and in information technology. My grammatical skills are good due to writing a lot of research papers and lab reports. In my spare time, I had help other friends in the subject of math of different levels, from college algebra to Calculus III. I love teaching. I entered DeVry University in Summer of 2007 as an Accounting/Business Major looking to aquire my Associates of Applied Science in Accounting. I took a variety of general education classes such as business, math, english, and science. I attended the school for a few months earning credits before having to take a break to go home and be with my father who was suffering from a serious illness. I did extremely well in the areas of math and english which required extensive hours spent on research and studying. I have been privately tutoring children over the past three years. I took a few classes on teaching at a small community college while I was still in high school. I still am considering becoming a teacher after going back to school to complete my major in accounting. I've always been a stronger believer in one-on-one teaching working more proficiently then being taught in a classroom.

One of my biggest regrets in life is that I didn't get a teaching certification while I was in college. It is a profession which I would truly love. As the mother of two children, one of schoolage, I realize now that it would have been a great life choice for me.
