My comments on tutoring Piano : With a BA degree in Music education I recently worked for 3 years at a local Piano Academy prior to my move to Nashville, TN. While teaching at the academy I was able to teach piano students of all ages, and really learn to tailor a lesson to the student. I also have 2 years of experience providing private piano instruction using various piano curricular apart from an academy.

I have no preference, I thoroughly enjoy the one on one experience and watching my individual students grow right before my eyes. However, I also enjoy working with groups of students at a time, no more than 3-4 students in a small group. I thrive in the master class setting of instruction as well, so I am completely open to all types of instruction, as long as my listener is growing.
My passion for music education was birthed through a childhood of great music exposure and music teachers. As a college graduate in Music Education, I sought to follow this passion for music and shared it with the hundreds of young lives I would teach. My comments on tutoring Piano : I work with students on chording only.

My main instrument is the violin. I have had two students total that I've taught in the past. I played in the school orchestra in middle and high school, also took private lessons at WKU. I also have played twice with the Western Kentucky University Symphony. I also teach piano, chording only. I am not classically trained on piano. I teach vocal. I also know basics on the flute that I am capable of teaching.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have been a professional musician since 1978, teaching other musicians theory, performance etc. What can I say? I grew up in a music store! I've taught guitar, bass guitar, piano, drums and piano technology. Most of my students are now professional musicians. I don't use any techniques out of any book, each person is different and their needs are also.
My father had a piano rebuilding shop and I worked for him begining at age 12, in every aspect of piano rebuilding, regulating and tuning. Do I need to say more? Over 40 years of working on pianos is more than most piano tuners have. I don't use tuning machines, God already gave me 2 on each side of my head that work much better. I could write a long paragraph of blah blah trying to impress you but over 40 years of pianos says it all.

I began my French studies in my first year at Belmont and I enjoyed it so much that I decided to study the language primarily. After my first trip to France in the summer of 2007, my skills in the language took off, as did my passion for learning. I began tutoring other student athletes and other students at my university who studied French. After I graduated, I gave French lessons to two small children on a weekly basis.
