I have extensive experience working with children grades prekindergarten to eleven. I taught universal prekindergarten, kindergarten and fifth grade, as well as teaching a social action course to students in grades ten and eleven. I have tutored students in grades kindergarten through tenth grade for the past 5 years. I have tutored students in math, reading, social studies, writing and study skills. I have a B.S. in Elementary Education and a M.S. in Reading and Literacy. I am a New York State certified elementary and early childhood education teacher. I have always wanted students to really know the material being covered. This has meant keeping their interest through jovial yet concentrated lesson planning. Much too often Educators show students how to answer questions rather than helping the student learn how to handle new scenarios. I like to teach any level of students, I had in my studio, helped kid's with their school repertoire requirements, as well with their personal school musical projects. I have worked with Middle School age youth for almost a decade. I am Site Coordinator at an after school program & run a science focused club there. I also occasionally help the students who have been removed from our Homework Room with a number of subjects. I enjoy imparting my knowledge to my students via a variety of hands on learning activities and have always been a keen math, science and language arts student myself. Throughout school, I also played every woodwind instrument except the Oboe. While in college, I took every Agricultural Education class offered, as it is my intended area of post graduate study, and gained a grasp of educational psychology, classroom management and lesson planning.
