I am a teacher who believes that a discovery technique of education has proved to me that all students can learn and master what they themselves view as their true and real career choices. I have a proven track record and know what I can and can not do for each of my students. I would like to work with people of all cultures in this world of mutiticulural education. I graduated Boston College with a B.S. in Biology and a minor in liberal arts;susequentally I earned a D.D.S. Degree fron NYU. I have taught students in Math and Science courses as well as students in various levels of high school and college in SAT prep,ACT prep. My education has been extensive mostly because of the Jesuit education which instilled in me a life-long interest in helping all students to reach their innate potential.

I love teaching people of all ages. My easy going demeanor and enthusiastic attitude have allowed me to make a strong connection with all my students. As an undergraduate at NYU, I earned that extra spending money by tutoring Latin. As my customer base grew, I branched out into mathematics and general study skills. After college I went to Europe to earn an MA in Linguistics. I am patient and approachable but insist on the value of completing assignments even if the student "hates" them. I am good at explaining how this will be important later, which turns around reluctant learners. I believe in explaining, showing, modelling, and then stepping back while the student tries, explains, and determines where the mistakes come up. I value resiliance, and bask in the joy of competence achieved through effort. I went from the Boston Public Schools to Commonwealth School and then Wellesley College, and would have been lost, early on, without help from tutors. I majored in English and Russian and work with several communities for whom English is not their first language. I am also a freelance writer and editor and I help my children's friends with their college essays. I work as a substitute teacher with all levels and grades and teach everything but Science and Gym.
