Biology is one of my top subjects!

I do my best to adapt to how the student learns most efficiently. I also greatly encourage for the student to speak during tutoring sessions; rather than I do all the talking, I believe it is greatly beneficial for the student to partake in discussions and ask questions. I also do my best to incorporate hands-on activities with students. Unfortunately, I've found that many people find science to be intimidating and difficult. It is my goal to show students that science is, in fact, extremely interesting and fun. I wish to make it as engaging as possible to spark a students interest, captivate them, and make them curious about the scientific world.

I graduated a year early from high school which then led me to the local community college.At the community college, I found myself being president of a local club known as Earth Awareness.I then graduated with my Associates Degree in Biology with honors.Cornell University was the next stage in my life where I became part of a local honors group known as Alpha Zeta Fraternity.Although attending Cornell University was a great honor; I felt that it was too large of a school for me(300+ in some courses) which then led me to SUNY at Fredonia.I will now be graduating from SUNY Fredonia with my Bachelor of Science in Biology this December 2009.I plan on attending graduate school at Fredonia University and earning my Master of Science in Biology.

A Little Bit About Me...

I use all the main teaching tools. Both hands on and visually for those students who need different tools. I love to interact with children and adults helping them through their classes to better their future. I also enjoy having a hand in their future success. I truely believe that a great teacher is one who teaches for the greater growth of their pupils and personally I strive to help them succeed.
As an Honor roll student, a student on the Dean's list I was lucky to have graduated early. I taught six graders through opelia. I have also tutored a master's Student through her Statistics. A Little Bit About Me...

As a future medical school student, I worked very hard throughout my undergraduate career and was able to obtain a B.S. in both Cellular Neuroscience and Psychology in only 3.5 years. I have participated in Biomedical research both at Allegheny College (neurodegeneration in Drosophila melanogaster) as well as at the University of Pittsburgh (aggregation kinetics of the huntingtin protein). Furthermore, I volunteered at Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Crawford County as a Big Brother. Through the mentoring program as well as the Allegheny College football team, I gained experience tutoring other players as well as helped my "little brothers" with their homework whenever necessary.

He said "teach those who learn, inspire those who will be inspired and love all the rest since you never know what will cause someone to want to learn or to be inspired". I have applied this to teaching, coaching anc consulting. in that I appraoch every situation as a teaching opportunity. In teaching I generally view problems 3 dimensionally and when explaining try to have several approaches as no one approach will fit all.
