I have been teaching and tutoring for many years. I have tutoring experience for students in grades 1,2,3,and 5. I have teaching experience in Special Education and Elementary Education in grades K,1,2,4, and 5. I began my career as a teacher's assistant. I taught second grade for 2 years. My teaching style depends on the student I am working with. Teaching is about working with the student in the way that works best for them. A Little Bit About Me...

I am finishing up my Bachelors degree in Dietetics at SUNY Oneonta- I will be graduated in December. I have been offered positions as a chemistry tutor but denied because of my other jobs. I was a student mentor for a year in high school to students that were "slacking" or wasn't understanding one or more of their classes. I worked at Albany ARC and worked to train young adults and adults in the kitchen- which also included basic skills such as counting and reading.
I really would like to help make a difference in someone's life and help them understand academics just like myself. When I try to teach someone, I always explain to them the subject as basic and simple as possible. I give a few examples, and then help them figure it out themselves. When/ if they struggle, I will be there to help set them back on track.

Before earning a BA in Biology at Skidmore College and after graduating high school, I took three years off to play hockey. Concurrently, I enrolled in classes at Mount Wachusett Community College in Massachusetts and tutored in the math department. I tutored students in algebra, geometry, pre-calculus, and some calculus.
