My first career was as a Registered Professional Nurse (NYS licensure) for 25 years. During those years, I kept up my interest in various fields of math, such as Abstract Algebra, Differential equations, and topology. I enjoy tutoring Math because I feel comfortable in giving students an alternate way of understanding the subject outside of their textbook and teacher. My teaching style would be to help the student formulate the problem, enabling them to arrive at the final solution by themselves. If he/she had trouble with this, I would give hints allowing them to find the correct answer.
