Russian language is my native language. I consider that any intelligent educated person should know at least English, French and German to be able to read Dumas,Shakespeare, Heine in the original. Learning foreign languages was my hobby and became my second profession as patent searcher and analyzer in addition to my technical degree. As to teaching, it is my calling. Because I enjoy and see the wonder in science and I like to show that to students. If they see a reason to want the knowledge, and see how it can expand their horizons, then they will be more open to learning. A common problem with individuals needing tutoring is that they sometimes do not think they have the "smarts" to learn the subject. My first objective is to show them they have the "stuff" to get it! Then I show them how it can be fun. This needs to be balanced with the practical need to get passing grades and complete the course work.
