My one to one teaching style is tailored to adapt to the students learning style. However, my experience shows that keeping the student active during the learning process promotes a better learning. I use Microsoft Excel during my lessons. I create formulas, graphs, etc. and the Excel spreadsheet and ask the student to enter the data so that he/she can see how things change with different entries. To be an effective instructor, it is necessary to have a perfect environment; one that allows for interaction and collaboration between students and their instructor. Hence I believe that teaching should be comprised of two complementary elements: knowledge of content and ability to transfer this knowledge to a group of people. Knowing the subject is not enough, one has to be able to develop excellent communication skills that will allow you to pass on your knowledge to a diverse group of people. It is also important that when the fundamentals of the subject are presented, real world examples follow. From this, students can experience a practical application of the learning process.
