As a Cum Laude graduate of VCU, I achieved my academic goals with a major in chemistry and a minor in mathematics. Upon earning my BS in Chemistry, I also provide much of my chemical and mathematical expertise to fellow classmates by being the leader of study groups and chemistry and mathematical informational sessions. A Little Bit About Me...

Math is a different subject than most as it builds upon itself. When teaching a higher level math I like to start with a review of the lower level math used in the process prior to explaining the more advanced procedure. I am also not a component of calculators. I first show a student how to do the procedure without a calculator then after they have mastered the process I will show them the calculator method.
I have earned a B.S. in mathematics. While attending Virginia Tech I would regularly tutor fellow students taking courses that I was in or had currently taken. That experience teaching led me to pursue a position teaching after graduation. I taught Algebra II, Calculus, and Computer Science at a high school in Northern Virginia for a year and a half before deciding to go to law school.

A Little Bit About Me...

As a typically destitute college student, I chose to supplement my income with the knowledge I knew best. This covered non-biological sciences and mathematics, as well as conversational Spanish and English literary composition up to the sophomore college level, Over the last five years, though the three years of my undergraduate education were the most busy, both peers and high school students took advantage of my services.
Post-pubescent persons have a great capacity to learn abstract material; all that is necessary to open that potential is to motivate them. I do not specialize in that motivation. I do, however, excel at taking a puzzled student and explaining the difficult material in a way that makes sense to him or her. Mnemonic devices, simplifications, and advanced tools contribute to progress for any student of mine.

I do not know what my teaching style is. I have instructed large groups and had one on one learning sessions as well. I have dominated the communication time and I have been a listener. I have out right provided examples and I have merely provided encouragement for a student to continue their thought process. I believe everyone learns differently and therefore it is important to be flexible. I have recently graduated from Virginia Tech where I majored in Biological Sciences. This included biology, physics, and chemistry as focus points. My tutoring experience has been volunteer work. Throughout my academic career I have always helped others, from explaining difficult concepts to peer reviewing papers in college.
