I start by asking the students to tell me exactly what is it that they not understand and start from there. I then like to work backwards from that point to find where they got lost. I also use everyday concepts to give similiar scenarios to get them on the right track. I find pleasure in seeing their faces light up once they come to understand the subject matter.

As a college student I am still striving for my goal and dream of becoming a veterinarian. I have always been a mentor in my community and willing to help others where they need help. My favorite subjects throughout grade school include math and science, in which I have excelled in both by being placed in honor level classes throughout high school. I have tutored many students in math, science and elementary level reading.
My teaching style with younger children is to have a relaxed setting where no pressure in placed upon the student. I'm always sure to review my material before going into a new lecture. When a student is not understanding the material I try to use many methods for then to gain a better understanding. I believe that patience is key to a child's learning experience. When I was in school, I had teachers that were mostly concerned with tearing through the curriculum. Many times there were some left behind in the process who did not firmly grasp the concepts being taught. In one-on-one tutoring and teaching there is an opportunity to re-learn the material in a different way so that a child who may not have gotten in class has another chance to learn the material.
