A Little Bit About Me...

Taught AP, Honors and Regent level Biology and Honors Physics at Preston High School in NY Most of my students recieved Mastery or above on state exams at the end of the year.Most of my students scored above 620 on the SAT biology subject exam. Tutored throughout my college years the subjects: Chemistry, Biology, Anatomy and Physiology and Microbiology.
My methods are rather traditional. I beleive that there is no way around hard work. I will explain the problems in many different ways in order for the student to grasp a particular concept. I also am a irm believer that the more problems a student does, the better they become in doing the material.

A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style changes to fit the requirements of the subject and the needs of my students. I find that presenting and explaining works best for language arts and history, concept teaching works best for science, and direct instruction works best for mathematics. I also take into account the learning preferences of my students: left or right brained, visual, spatial, or kinesthetic because each prefers different treatment. As a tutor I strive to teach each student in the instructional method they prefer because this leads to an increased comfort level and willingness to learn, and it also enables them to process the material faster. This enables them to become more successful students.
