My comments on tutoring Writing Skills : During the last 3 years, I have mainly been tutoring ESL students in writing. I have experience in teaching creative writing, expository writing, and persuasive writing. Of course I would be fully capable of teaching a non-ESL student writing as well.

A student cannot learn unless he is comfortable and confident. My first priority before teaching is to make sure the student is relaxed and believes he can accomplish the goal. I also like to get to know my student to know what kind of learner he is and what he likes. My teaching style is "delight directed" whenever possible.
In 2001, I received my certification in Elementary Education from CCSU. I then substitute taught for the town of West Hartford for 2 years while I got married and had my son. He had a lot of health problems so the decision was made for me to stay home with him. When it came to Kindergarten he still had many health issues so we thought it was best to keep him home and I began to Homeschool him. A Little Bit About Me...

I am an avid writer of short stories and poetry, as well as song lyrics. I am an excellent public speaker and earned an A in this subject in college. I have been told I have a way with words, and have become the "walking dictionary" for family and friends. I have published a book of poetry from beiginning to end, without the help of a publishing company. I also have experience being a mom's helper to two autistic boys ages 3 and 5.
