A love of reading is the cornerstone to a love of learning.

I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and pre-medicine. I have experience working with children who have autism. Elementary education is important to me since it is the foundation upon which later learning is built. I believe that all students have strengths and weaknesses and that each child deserves the opportunity to succeed in school. While psychology was my primary area of study, I am excellent with reading, writing, and medical related sciences. My teaching style is one of discipline and at the same time hands-on. Students must feel the relevance of the world around them in order to gain an understanding of what's being taught. I work with the individual but never let the focus off of the competition that's waiting. Students must understand that learning is an every day, every moment experience. It's all about how they see the world around them. I love teaching and working with children. The "aha" moment is what I live for. After obtaining a list of objectives, I like to offer a pop quiz to set a baseline. Thereafter, topics are divided in number of days available for preparation. Most important topics and topics not well understood get time and individualized priority. Offer a challenge test at the end. Harder than the test students will face but no so hard as to lower self steem.
