As a graduate with a Bachelors Degree in Education, I have a great diverse experience with children and families. Every kid is different in their own special way. You need different tactics per different kid. Being that I am patient and caring I know that it wouldn't take long for them to get comfortable with me and have me assist them. I believe that every good deed should be rewarded and if the student is doing well he shall be treated so, with a possible treat or even a pat on the back. I feel that if a child is told what they are doing right rather than what they are doing wrong they are more likely to have a positive outlook on what task they are trying to accomplish.

I see my job as that of facilitator: the student is there, the information is there, and the student is the learner. I'm just there to guide, explain, provide details, clarify, relate new information to existing knowledge, etc. The student has to be "in charge," so to speak. I can't force knowledge into someone's mind, it has to be learned, but I can help make that information real and relevant to provide the motivation to learn. I do believe that all children learn differently and my FIRST goal is to find out how that child learns best and go around the child's needs---not expecting the child to learn how I teach and limit that child. Because of my experiences in the past, I've had great opportunities of working with Special Needs children of which is a grea example of finding the way the child learns best. I have homeschooled my son, who has ADHD and doesn't take medication, from Kindergarted to 6th grade. He is now in school and is a virtually an A student. I can teach just about any subject, even subjects I do not have an education in, for example, the last two years, my son had a desire to learn Latin, so I taught him Latin as I learned it myself. I really enjoy awakening a child's passion for reading and writing. I enjoy teaching kids who are have different learning styles.
I beleive that all students have a unique learning style, and that a good teacher can figure out how to reach a student. If a student does not understand a subject or concept, I employ different methods (visual, hands-on, abstract, manipulatives) etc. I am extremly patient, and don't believe that students are smart or dumb, I believe all students can learn equally well,if their strengths are tapped.
