I began my study of American Sign Language (ASL) at the tender age of 12, then studied Latin in high school with Mrs. Ellen Conrad. When I reached college, I continued my study of ASL while tutoring friends in Latin. My teaching style is very versatile. I think the best way to teach is to first assess the areas that need the most work, and then devise a simple, logical approach to help the student understand the material. Some students learn visually, others learn by repetition. It takes a lot of adaptation to make sure the student really grasps the ideas.

I approach teaching first as a learner; I learn what the student's main concerns are and what goals they have for themselves. Second, I teach and leave room for questions, concerns and confusion. This approach to teaching focuses on the major concerns of the student (or parent)rather than focus on an overarching theme like how to read or how to write.
