A Little Bit About Me...

I am a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer. I served in The Gambia West Africa as a health and community development volunteer. As a volunteer I worked in a local hospital on a daily basis, performing a variety of roles. I am a graduate of Roger Williams University. I have a BS in biology. RWU's science courses are intensive in both lecture and laboratory proficiency. As a result I’m able to tutor both lecture and laboratory portions of a course.
I am a very patient teacher, and I'm willing to take the time to explain any concepts a student is having trouble with. I love to teach and help others in general. I always had difficulty when I was younger finding a tutor or some help in my studies that I could understand easily. I am a very patient and have a great sense of humor that come in handy during subjects of frustration. I just graduated with a BA in Psychology and are two courses short of a minor in Spanish and Sociology. I've always been very strong in the English/Language Arts/Writing areas as well. My style tends to be laid back so that students are comfortable expressing their likes and dislikes with me, curbing their fear of not understanding something. As a young man I had several problems with math. It turns out that I was unable to visualize what the equations meant in abstract algebra and calculus. Eventually I was able to relate these concepts to subjects that I found interesting such as music and archaeology. Therefore creating more interest in the subjects that I gravitated to naturally.
