My teaching style is focused on student achievement. Many parents complain that their child does poorly on tests. This is often a result of inadequate teaching practices which fail to recognize individual learning differences in students. My goal in teaching is to individualize the learning process for each student, so that the student understands and retains knowledge and is able to explain what they learned. Math to me is like a puzzle... if you can imagine the pieces in your mind, fitting them together in practice is so much easier. I am extremely patient and easy going, even in coaching, most kids gravitated to me because I could speak to them on their level. You have to explain it in a way that kids can understand. Positive feedback is very critical to let them know they are going down the right path.
I have lived in South Jersey all of my life. I received my degree in Accounting from Stockton and have spent most of my career in finance working my way up to Controller for several businesses. When I was laid off, I had always wanted to try teaching and I loved it.
