A Little Bit About Me...

I received my BA from one of the top liberal arts colleges in the country. In addition to my psychology degree, I also studied Spanish extensively. Based on the liberal arts education that I received, I am fully capable of teaching a number of subjects including Spanish, History, and English. Currently, I teach Spanish and US History at a private boarding middle school in Connecticut but am moving to San Francisco for the summer. I also spent a lot of time in college and high school tutoring students in many subjects.
I believe that there is no such thing as a "bad" student/child. There are children that need more help and attention than others but everyone deserves the same amount of effort. I studied education at Montclair State University for 4 years but I have a always been a teacher. From leadership roles in high school to corporate training, I have a talent for being able to boil subjects down to their basics and provide true understanding. My strongest subjects are Math, Music, and Literature. I can also do work in Science, English and Humanities/Social Studies.

People who've seen me teach describe me as relaxed, focused, and funny. For better or worse (I like to think better), I believe in age appropriate humor as part of an overall teaching philosophy. I also tend to be lively. But the bottom line is that we all understand our goals and reach them. When I walk into a classroom or even a solo session, I want to know what the student(s) needs are.
