A Little Bit About Me...

I have a bachelor’s degree from the University of Gothenburg, Sweden, (major subject: Social Anthropology). Other university subjects are Sociology, Media/Communication, Literature and French. I am well read and I have a wide spectrum of interests. Since the late 80’s I have been occupied with and interested in computers/Internet. I have been a information & knowledge worker for many years, including journalism. I also have experience from working as a translator and language tutor.I am an American citizen.
I enjoy teaching and I love languages; language and culture are two sides of the same coin. I believe everybody can learn, but each in different ways. I have always loved to teach – even as a child in front of a tiny blackboard in my living room, playing school with my sister. Since then, I have continuously sought opportunities to teach outside of my daily school and work life. As an undergraduate at Middlebury College, I volunteered to teach beginning German at a local elementary school. After college, I taught seventh-grade Faith Formation at my church and also led monthly, 3-hour Confirmation preparation classes. My college coursework helped me develop excellent reading, writing, and language skills, but I am also competent in math and could easily tutor that subject on a grade school level.
