During my sophomore year in high school I decided to begin tutoring ESL students. I found the ability to help others succeed very rewarding, and began tutoring fellow classmates in courses including but not limited to English, math, biology, and chemistry. In high school I worked closely with non-English speakers. I tutored them in the subject of reading and writing English. I have also helped tutor in a a college setting. I helped tutor composition students with English being their second language.
I love teaching with children of all ages. Being from a background where English was hard to come by, I am very passionate in teaching/tutoring. During my undergraduate career, there were multiple influences that contributed to my passion for teaching. First, I tutored college students from Asia who were exchange students. This gave me the opportunity to apply what we learned in the classroom, and adapt to a culture that learns differently than Americans. Second, I tutored a high schooler in Spanish.
