My comments on tutoring ADD/ADHD : I am not classroom trained in this field, nor do i have a psychology degree, and i cant prescribe any medicine. i am twenty years old and have been living with adhd since i was born. I know what it feels like and have trained myself to focus and fit in to society, and i know what its like and the best ways to overcome it and have a positive outlook. i just wish when i was a kid i had someone who had known what it was like, instead of Doctors, taking their best guess at what i feel like

I have always been a hands on learner, so that is mostly the way i portray my lessons, by doing, instead of readin. However i also see the need in having to sit down and Get to work, because some thing are better learned on paper
i am just a twenty year old college student, Who has learned a lot in this world, and looking to pass it on to whomever it might effect. Very caring, musical, and a great people person. Because I've worked with students who have various learning differences, I have a vast array of teaching strategies. What works for one child doesn't always work for another. I encourage auditory learners to always read the instructions back to me. It helps if they can explain the material as if they were teaching the subject. Visual learns tend to respond to charts, graphs, note-taking, powerpoint- anything containing shapes and color. Tactile learners have sensory needs.
