Once in a classroom I realized that I was meant to teach. I love working with students who are challenging and those who challenge me. I believe that I can become a better teacher only by continually challenging myself and my students. The key phrase “engaging students” seems less than what is required in the classroom. Born as a Chinese national and I speak fluent Chinese Mandarin language and I studied Business in Accounting and graduated from SUNY Brockport in 1990 and my mathematical course I always get "A" on my grade (I even get 105 on my test score, believe it or not) and I still love math. The educators in VN were very tough. Call it tough love. While I learned a great deal, I always felt "abused" by the teachers (nuns). Many times during the school week, I came home with red markings on my face or hands. I take a softer approach. If you get a child excited, he/she will learn best! Human nature loves to play so if games can somehow be integrated into learning, voila! My nieces and nephews all asked their parents to have me teach them. Adult learners are no different.
