I taught and tutored ESL two years before entering law school. I hae taught college classes as an adjunct and later FT professor at Penn College for 25 years. I currently serve as Career Outreach Coordinator for HACC-Lebanon Campus. I have tutored many students, particularly in areas such as writing essays. I also served as a reader for the SAT Writing section, so I am familiar with what they are seeking. I am very proficient in grammar and structure. I worked with students who wanted to learn conversational English. I used newspapers, magazines, BBC radio and books on tape to facilitate understanding of the language. I used specifically designed three dimensional objects to help the students understand language and form sentences; for example, a triangle was a verb, a square was a noun etc. this really helped the students understand sentence structure - they had to place the object on the picture they thought it would match until they had completed their sentence.
