I received my Bachelor's and Masters degree in Biology from The University of Alabama. I was placed on the President's List for two semesters and the Dean's List for six semesters. I truly enjoy teaching math and enjoy watching the 'click' when a student begins to understand the concepts. I believe many students have been erroneously convinced that "they don't get math" or that math is too hard. 1) I like to help the student define our goal: "What is it we are trying to achieve?" 2) "How do we get there?" Here I am open to suggestions from the student as to how we achieve that goal. This gives me clues to his/her learning style. 3) I try to help the student break down each problem or project into small, managable steps.
