While studying physics at the University of Texas, I was exposed to a variety of educational experiences. My course work provided me with extensive study in mathematics and in physics courses designed for science majors. Also, I worked in the Lecture Demonstrations office, which provided working demonstration props for use in lower division physics courses taught to students of both science and non-science backgrounds. I generally try to remain as friendly as possible with the tutee so that he/she can relax and learn in a comfortable environment. I work on a first-name basis and try to make sure that the student is LEARNING, rather than merely finishing his/her homework. I teach using a Platonic method, asking prodding questions and getting the tutee to figure out the material him/herself. Although I am advanced as far as the subject areas I would be tutoring in are concerned, I am still able to present the content to the student in the unique way that they are able to understand it. This is important, since no two students think alike and, in my experience, a majority of students do have trouble with math and math-intensive sciences such as physics.
