I have helped tutor friends’ kids on math from little school to high school. I have taken math all the way up to Differential equations and feel alright tutoring up to calculus one. I do not possess documented experience from schools or other organizations. I am a very highly motivated individual that does not mind helping others. I also have experience in teaching or helping coach little league sports educating kids on how to play games correctly. I have also been an assistant coach and helped out at Clinton Community College with girl’s softball under the head coach.
I like to teach using examples, either on a board to show a person step by step first. Then try to give the student examples to try to solve themselves. If this does not work I continue to breakdown a problem until we can clearly identify where the student is having trouble.

I understand from first-hand experience why people can find the sciences difficult, especially Math and Physics, because I myself have had great difficulty with them in the past. The experience of teaching students, though complicated at times, was extremely rewarding. I felt a sense of joy when my students understood a concept here and there. In my three years at Guilford College, I was a TA for only one of them, but I enjoyed my work immensely. I have tutored for classes such as General Chemistry and Chemistry of Recycling. I have also tutored in English while doing volunteer work in China. In my education, I have developed enough skill in mathematics, chemistry and physics that I would be comfortable tutoring at the college sophomore level without preparation
I enjoy tutoring. To me, tutoring is the act of putting the finishing touches on what the teacher has already done.
