My first teaching experience was in high school teaching at after school programs about basic economic principles that may apply to kids. That was my first time understanding that I have potential to assist others in grasping topics. I am the son of two teachers. I was raised around teaching and it is simply in my blood. I love the teaching in the classroom, I love teaching individual students, I love teaching. Not only do I have a passion to teach, I also have the knowledge and the ability to do so and to make it relevant. I find that students learn better when they see how the material relates to their lives. They want to know why it matters. I strive to show students the reasons for learning things and at the same time I teach the material. Of all the students in the school who surpassed the required State testing and higher District goals in both reading and math, 75% came from my class, as did the winners of the school's essay contest, spelling bee and geography competition. My first career was in medicine where I gave direct care, taught military/civilian classes and participated extensively in research, gaining a deep understanding of science biology and chemistry and human A&P.
