My comments on tutoring Accounting : I taught accounting at Ohio University and Remington College. I passed the AICPA exam in 1969 (first try). I have four years experience as a CPA with Ernst & Young. I have four years of experience at MPI. I do my own accounting and taxes for my Company.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have been teaching at Ohio Business College for the past 4 years. I have taught several accounting courses at the associate degree level. I tutor students that are having difficulty with class material. I also teach students through independent study, where we cover the same material as a regular course, but without a class lecture.
I knew after taking a couple of courses when I went back to graduate school in 2003 that I wanted to go into teaching, at least on a part time basis. My daughter is an elementary school teacher, and I felt that I had an influence on her choice of a major. I enjoy seeing students learn. I like teaching all levels, but prefer teens and adults. My goal is to help the student really understand the subject matter. When possible, I try to use examples that are more relevant to helping the student understand. While I am driven and have done very well in school, some students do not have an aptitude for accounting and may only be taking it for their major. I just passed the CPA last November 2009 after studying on my own full time. In my last job I worked as a General Ledger Accountant for a manufacturing company.
