A Little Bit About Me...

I have been tutoring subject listed on my resume for about 11 years. Currently, I tutor 1) primary grade children in language arts, 2) one adult in computer programming skills (algorithms, MS SQL Server 2008, Java), and 3) through a couple of tutoring companies. I conduct tutoring in groups, one-on-one, in-school, and in-home. My education in geophysics and geology have provided me an intensive and extensive understand of several areas of applied mathematics, physics, and chemistry, all subjects which I have tutored and/or taught in the community college setting.
My learning and teaching preference is reading/writing. I adjust to students who are visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learners. Each student has different ways to learn. Some students require a more visual approach while ohers prefer repetion through listening and writing. I try to find the best way to help students learn and retain information. I believe that with the right help, every student has the potential to achieve academic success.
I have an extensive experience in the field of tutoring. For the past eight years, I have work with students from age kindergarten to highschool. From one-on-one tutoring, small groups, to helping a class of more than 60 students. Therefore, I can recognize each student's ability and devised a studying plan to help them improve their weaknesses.
