As cliché as this sounds - my favorite part of teaching is the satisfaction of knowing I made a difference. I have interacted with individuals across countless backgrounds and understand the idea of each student needing to hear things in their own terms. My teaching career has afforded me the opportunity to work individually with students of all ages and from economically and culturally diverse backgrounds. I believe each student thrives when he or she is able to explore the writing process in a tutorial context, as a complement to the classroom setting, which cannot address individual problems as effectively. Many students, especially those having difficulty with composition, grammar and mechanics, need patience and encouragement from a tutor before their styles of learning emerge and they are able to identify and resolve obstacles to learning. A Little Bit About Me...

I really do place something of a premium on being able to connect with all of my students on an academic and personal level. I believe that this helps them as they know that their teacher and tutor cares about them and their future and, as such, this causes them to grow and excel. I can attest to such things happening with many of my students and for that I am incredibly thankful.
I have done a lot of teaching and tutoring, both with adults and young people. Most of my experience, though, comes from working with high school and junior high school students. I spent the majority of that time as a tutor/ mentor and would work with the students one on one or in small groups, both in the library or in the classroom. It was really the most wonderful experience and I was able to provide tremendous benefits to the students on both an academic and personal level.

I have in that time earned a BS in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Florida State University.
