My comments on tutoring Microsoft Excel : I have over ten years of experience with Microsoft Excel and I have used it in college level coursework. The areas that I can provide assistance with include data analysis, error propagation calculations, graphing, and CSV files.

I have experience working with students who are advanced and seeking supplementary tutoring as well as with students who are having difficulty with a subject. I have tutored mathematics as well as chemistry, biology, physics, and other subjects. I have tutored students from a range of ages and I worked with my first student over four years ago while I was in college.
I try to work with students to find connections between different aspects of the material that we're working on as well as to find connections to other subjects. I find that by relating specific topics to broader perspectives on a subject as well as related subjects, the student can gain a greater appreciation for the coherence and importance of a particular subject area.

My comments on tutoring Microsoft Excel : I have a custom-made curriculum for Excel 2010 Basics, which at it's shortest can be crammed into a 30-minute presentation. But it can also be expanded with hands-on activities, new custom lessons, help with your specific Excel needs, and more to customize the experience for your goals and schedule.

My career path has winded around quite a bit but always focuses on computer science and math education. My education experience has included tutoring freelance, tutoring on USD's payroll, leading group study sessions, providing supplemental instruction for university coursework, leading workshops at a computer camp, writing workshops for that camp, and ultimately teaching math full time in a high school. I love to see the proverbial light come on and the students eyes widen and they say "OH! I get it!" I've tutored a wide variety of students from diverse backgrounds. I try to make mathematics fun, like a puzzle to be figured out, and remove the "hard chore" stigma which is generally hard pressed into a students mind by the time I arrive. Getting the student to believe in themselves and believe mathematics isn't a daunting task it's just difficult until you learn the tricks is my goal.
