I have had experience tutoring at a number of levels. In high school, I volunteered as a math and Spanish tutor for other high school students. I also interned in a first grade classroom for a semester. While in this position, I worked with students one-on-one and in groups to help them to learn material better.

I am not young enough to know everything

I agree with the concept that each person learns a bit differently, and even more so that as a tutor, I should try and find the most effective style for my tutee. My academic career also taught me the importance of setting time limits for each action item; and switching tasks to keep the mind sharp.

My B.A. is in History and Social Behavioral Science. This encompasses Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Economics and Political Science. After graduating second in my class with a 3.9 GPA, I started working for the Art Institute of Chicago. I believe that by letting the student try to answer the problem by them self is the best way of learning. I will try to guide them down the right path, but even a wrong answer can teach you a lesson. I also believe that practice is the best way to become good at science or math, like a basketball player practice basketball to become better, so must a student.
I am currently writing my thesis in order to finish my Master’s degree in applied physics. My research is on experiment fluid dynamics where I am studying the affects of viscosity on glycerin.
