I am currently a PhD student in Chemistry and hold education in high regard. I believe education is the key to success in any field. I have a excellent grasp of the Sciences and Math coupled with excellent writing skills. From my undergraduate years I have tutored and mentored students in subjects ranging from Chemistry to Math, SAT, both Verbal and Quantitative sections, and English.
I strive to make the student better and ultimately independent. I teach to instill the love of education in the student and give the student my best. I work with the students and adapt well to the students needs, as each student is unique and may require a different approach. I first started tutoring in high school, both privately and as a volunteer. My favorite subjects to tutor were Algebra and Calculus, though I also tutored Spanish, English, and Biology. I had several regular students and additional students during peak times like finals week and AP season. In college, I continued this work in a more formal setting as a lab assistant, teaching assistant, and tutor for the Grinnell College Science Learning Center. The subjects included CHM 130: General Chemistry and CHM 210: Inorganic and Analytical Chemistry.
Tutoring is one of my favorite jobs. As an undergraduate student in India, I used to help my younger brother and cousins with school. Especially being in engineering my Math, Chemistry and Physics backgrounds are very strong. I have never tutored for money but I used to tutor a lot for free. This developed my passion for teaching and even as a graduate student at Univ. of North Texas, I used to teach undergraduate students (including freshmen). I have taught engineering classes at undergraduate level, which requires extensive math skills.
I always believed that all the children are smart and can learn difficult things.
