Passionate Elementary Education Tutor

I love teaching and I love to see the spark in a child's eye when they finally understand a subject they have struggled with! I am a certified special education instructional support aide for an elementary school in northwest Fort Worth. During the school year, I work in Resource and Content Mastery with special education students that are in general education classes but need additional instruction in Reading, Math, and Language Arts. I also provide additional assistance through Content Mastery to students in Science and Social Studies. I have learned most people achieve best in a fun and interactive environment. Learning games, role modeling, flash cards, art, and music are a few tools that are used. Another important component is trust and teamwork. Once students know you have their best interest at heart, trust is built. In a one-to-one situation, a teacher must emphasize teamwork.
I have a BS from LeTourneau University in Business Management, and have more 48 college hours in Science, English and History. I have been accepted in an Alternative Path to Certification program with A+ Texas Teachers. I have completed the 80 hours training required by Texas and passed the NCLB tests: TExES Science 116 (4 -8), TExES Special Education 161 (EC-12), and the Arizona Biology 07 (9-12).
