Throughout college I was a tutor with a Learning Center. I worked with children in grades K-12. At this center, we helped build reading and math skills individually and in groups. I was also a private tutor for a high school student. Together we improved her study skills and organization. I assisted her with writing assignments, projects, and daily homework. I also worked in the Camden County school system as a substitute teacher and secretary. At Mercer University, I earned my BA in Communications and Theater Arts, and an English minor. I also hold certifications through GACE (Georgia Assessments for the Certification of Educators) in Early Childhood Education and Middle Grades Language Arts.

I believe the greatest asset to learning for anyone at any age is learning "how" to learn. I like to use modern techniques and ideas to creatively teach a child or adult a new concept. I am patient and unique.
I have a passion for teaching and as such opened a tutoring service that I ran for four years. I hold a Bachelors of General Studies from Valdosta State University and will graduate with my Master of Business Administration in May 2010.
