I didn't get another chance to tutor until my freshman year of college. I volunteered to help a young man who could not take notes for himself. While tutoring in the Lake Superior learning center. I enjoyed tutoring the students. I would help the student break down the math problem step by step and explain the process. I would then sit with them and encouragement them to complete the next problem on their own. If they got stuck I would give assistance, through asking them questions or trying to help them remember the mathematical steps. If all else failed I would show them the process again, slowly and in a mater that would not discourage them.
