Elementary is one of my top subjects! I have taught elementary school for 30 years. Various grades from Kindergarten to sixth grade.

I use a combination of both online games and Websites and hands-on manipulatives. First, I like for the student to take multiple intelligence tests and then I know how best to help the student. The information I gain from the analysis is extremely informative. It tells me where the students' strengths lie such as some students are musically inclined, some are visual learners, auditory learners, some are mathematicians and various other styles. Then, the style that they learn through the best is how I would teach the student; this is based on Gardner's Multiple Intelligence. Second, meeting the standards are essential in today's education system. The four C's of the 21st century is also necessary for students' to learn. I believe that Mathematics is the language of all sciences, and that children need a good foundation in this subject to succeed. I believe that everyone is teachable, if the student has the desire and the teacher has the commitment. I tend to be a patient teacher, with high standards. I actively question the student, which allows me to challenge the student in my presence, where I am able to guide him/her.
