Every child can learn, just not in the same way!

I am an Elementary school teacher for 6 years. I have my BA in Psychology, from Rutgers University, and hold my teaching certificate for Elementary K-6 and Special Education K-12. Prior to being a teacher, I have worked for an outreach program, working one to one with Autistic and Down Syndrome students. My comments on tutoring Elementary Math : Mathematics will be fun to do.

My style is based on the student's manner of learning and it is based on repetition of various materials. First, I allow the student to tell me what she or he knows about the subject. From that I can see what he or she has maintained and what style of learning fits the student best. I also like to have students complete problems in a very close manner to the manner that I used to solve similar problems. After I finish one problem, I like her or him to repeat solving the problem and explain why various steps have been taken to solve the problem. This works well for mathematics and it also can works well for writing and for understanding what was read.
