Elementary Education and ESL

In 2001, I received my certification in Elementary Education from CCSU. I then substitute taught for the town of West Hartford for 2 years while I got married and had my son. He had a lot of health problems so the decision was made for me to stay home with him. When it came to Kindergarten he still had many health issues so we thought it was best to keep him home and I began to Homeschool him. Homeschooling has worked well for him and his younger sisters so I have continued even though his health is far better. He is now entering 6th grade. My oldest daughter is 9 years old and beginning 6th grade math and 5th grade Language Arts. My 3 year old daughter is learning to read and my 16 month old daughter is along for the ride. Talent Development Tutoring

I have led several workshops about differentiation and developmentally appropriate practices for early childhood educators and parents over the last couple of years. I have been tutoring for elementary aged students for ten years now. Parents have seen real academic gains through the tutoring approach I take. For instance, some people are visual learners while others, like myself, are auditory learners. I strongly believe that educators should expose their students to as many fields and ideas as possible.
