As a graduate from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where I majored in Molecular and Cellular Biology and minored in Chemistry, I received an excellent education. Until recently, I worked in a research laboratory at UIUC, studying ecology and evolution. Through my education and laboratory experience, I have gained a broad spectrum of knowledge in various subject with a focus in biology including, microbiology, and anatomy to general biology. I have been teaching Biology and Physical Science for the past 6 years at a very competitive private high school. I have a degree in Biology with an emphasis on Secondary Education. As well as teaching high school for the last 6 years, I have also taught at the local College for Kids summer program. At this program I was the instructor for invertebrate dissection. I am also avaible to assist in writing research papers, lab reports, and essays.
My favorite part of being a teacher is when I see a struggling student succeed. I believe that all students do not learn in the same way, and so it is of utmost importance to find the BEST learning method for each child. It is important to keep the student involved in the learning process with hands-on activities that allow the student to experience the science!

I'm a student at Augustana College whose academic record has ranged from public school to home schooling to community college and and even private education. I've worked as a tutor for over 2 years at Black Hawk College, at the same time obtaining an Associates Degree. Throughout those years I've encountered many special needs students and many bright students, tutoring in subjects ranging from English, Math, Social Studies, to Computer Science.
I believe the best way to learn is peer-to-peer learning. As an auto-didact I have the study skills necessary to regurgitate information as taught by the current institutional models. This is an uncreative and highly unnatural way to learn. There's a reason no major discovery was made in a classroom -- true innovation, discovery and learning is an organic process.
