I think teaching styles should differ based on the preferred learning style of the student. The teaching style should play on the strengths and preferences of that particular student. That being said, I foster a student-centered approach to learning. This approach encourages the student play an equal, active role in the learning process, rather than a passive role. A cooperative approach is important so the student can feel like he or she is an active and capable participant in learning the material. I also believe in leading by example and allowing the student to use me as a resource for reviewing their work.

I'll only be taking elementary kids as students, I can tutor/help them with studies for 1/2 hours every weekday.
I am currently enrolled in highschool but I tutored many of my cousins for the past several years so I'm great with young kids! I really like to teach but only topics I really believe in. I am not a good salesperson for the same reason, if I don't believe in something you can see right through me. I have seen too many adults and kids taught the steps to something, do "A" then do "B" then do "C". This is fine until it is required that we need to do A,B,F or B,A,C. Then this poor person is left with no other angle. I am very creative and resourceful teacher, if I can teach an understanding of what "A" does, why we do "A", and when to do "A", then when A,B,F is needed the person has skills to think their way through it.
