Upon my decision to return to college and obtain my BS degree, it was discovered that I possessed an uncanny, natural talent involving all aspects of the studies surrounding English. Reading, comprehension, symbolism, poetry, creative writing, poise, maturitym ,ect. After that placement exam, it was decided that I did not have to take any English courses, or, I would take more advanced courses. I did choose the latter. Throughout the last 10 years, I have helped my husband, brother, all of my children, etc. I have tutored them on how to write a well developed paper on their topic of choice, and have it read showing the expertise of the writer. Every person has the ability to learn! I have found the key is to establish a rapport with each student, and then find the method that works best for them. Some students learn better by hearing the concept. It is helpful for them to first have a conversation about what the subject matter is, and how it is used, and then proceed to the actual lessons. Other students excel when they see the concept first, and learn best through visual aids.
