A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching is based on lecture explanation. During teaching/tutoring I encourage my students to ask questions. At the end of the lesson I provide problems related to the related material. Assign homework for next class session.
During my last year of college, I was employed by my university as a science/math tutor. During this year I was able to help students with their science problems of all levels. During my time in college I was involved in reading biomedical research papers.I was able to attract many students interested in the biomedical research field to learn how to read research papers. I was very proud of myself for this due to the high difficulty first year graduate students have reading these papers.

I like to emphasize the personal nature of teacher-student interactions. My overall goal is to develop in students the capacity for independent action, initiative, and responsibility. I work with students on projects almost in a consultative fashion and I provide as much support and encouragement as possible. I have a Bachelors & a Masters of Science in Biology. Most of my experience is in academic research from both Canterbury University and The University of Oklahoma. My career was successful many times over.
