My comments on tutoring Basic Learning Skills : This subject is often neglected and sometimes is the root of many learning challenges. Basic study skills, being organized, and several other topics are covered to help student gain the skills they need to learn! I always include this training no matter what subject area I am tutoring a student in.

I am a retired elementary school teacher and taught for over 15 years in the St. Louis area public/private schools. Some students remember best what they see, some what they hear, but nearly all will best recall material that they see hear say and do something with. My teaching style is one that tries to incorporate seeing, hearing, saying, and doing and getting students to use higher order thinking skills as much as I can.
