My teaching style depends on the student. I am comfortable with trying different study methods in order to figure out why my student is having trouble with a particular subject.
I have a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. I love being able to help students feel comfortable with the material they are studying. I have tutored numerous times throughout college, and would like to get back into tutoring students because I find it to be rewarding. Genetics is one of my top subjects! Similar to experience in Biochemistry, I have practical experience in molecular genetics and studies classical genetics in college.

I took a variety of Biology classes and Labs at WPI mostly focused on Cell Biology and Molecular Genetics. I recently finished my PH.D. where I studied control of viral gene expression. A Little Bit About Me...

I have tutored high school students who are college bound during my undergraduate years at William Paterson University of New Jersey. I also tutored my fellow undergraduates. I then pursued a doctorate and was active in many peer study groups where were tutored each other in neuroscience and organic chemistry. I have a love for science which shows through my enthusiasm in imparting scientific knowledge to others.
My style is dependent on the student. While the end result is having a student understand the material, the way of achieving this varies with each person. Some students require a lot of hand holding while some require a more hands off approach. To achieve understanding I will cater to the students needs.

My approach is to determine the student's weaknesses, and then formulate analogies to explain the difficult concepts. I study the student's learning style in order to infuse the new material as easily as possible. Additionally, I introduce new ways to understand the material, and then observe the student's reaction.
I graduated Rutgers University majoring in Biology and German, and minoring in Chemistry. I have a strong science background, which I will continue to expand by completing a PhD at Yale starting in the Fall. I have experience tutoring students in math during the last 2 years of high school, and 1 year of calculus tutoring in college.
