A Little Bit About Me...

I have tutored at the middle, high school, and college levels since my first year of college in 2004. Since then, I have worked as a paraeducator for the Special Education Dept. of an elementary school where I worked with first and second graders. For my student teaching experience, I was an intern for a full year at a city middle school, working with 8th graders in the subjects of science (primary), communication arts, and math. I am completing a teaching certification program, and am certified in Biology and Chemistry. A Little Bit About Me...

I have enjoyed each experience I have had with teaching, beginning with an informal position as a study group leader in the Genetics course I completed at Penn State University. While working on my MS at the University of Tennessee, I taught lecture and outdoor laboratory sessions for the Ornithology course, which included about 30 students. As the coordinator of the Conservation Science Internship Program at Hawk Mountain Sanctuary, I am responsible for much of the training of 5-11 interns at one time. The Sanctuary hosts interns from all over the world including 26 interns (age range: 17-42) from 24 countries in my time as coordinator. I also teach two 1-credit courses per year as an instructor with Cedar Crest College in Allentown, PA.
