Biology is one of my top subjects! I received my BS in Biological Sciences with a minor in Chemistry with honors in 2010. As an undergraduate I served as the supplemental instructor leading peer reviewed tutor sessions for a Cellular and Molecular Biology, Genetics and Evolution class as well as an Organism and Ecological Biology class. Due to my postive reinforcement and support, I won awards as a Master SI leader (College Reading and Learning Association) as well as University awards for most attendees, and creative learning techniques. I also was nominated to the Beta-Beta-Beta National Biology Honor Society, and later awarded an honorary member due to my work as the President for 2009/2010.

I have tutored one-on-one as well as to large groups. My focus is on college level science classes. I feel that bringing creative and unique methods to learning helps student overcome their dispassion or fear. My sessions aim to be positive and motivating. Although I have won numerous awards for my creativity, and presentation methods, the greatest reward have been the smiling faces of my students after the course when they brag about their final grades. My comments on tutoring Biology : up to biology 101/102 college level

I am someone who understands that not all children learn effectively the same way. I am someone who will sit down with my student and ask them questions regarding how they learn and how they do not learn. Sometimes a student will not know how they learn effectively but they will know what does not work for them. From there I try to tailor a program to suit that student. As a tutor you are able to have that one on one time and you can design your instructions for a specific student therefore making your teaching more effective.
