My teaching style is one in which I strive to engage students in the subject by both instructing and challenging them to think on their own. I have always loved working with children and I believe I can make a positive difference in childrens' lives. Children learn through seeing, hearing, saying, feeling and doing. I try to determine which combination of learning styles are best for each individual student and then use that method to teach them the subject. I am a certified teacher in the state of Texas. I have, for the past ten years, been tutoring and teaching Latin and English/Language Arts. I taught high school for two years in Pennsylvania, and for the last two years, I have taught Latin and English here in Texas. I graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in Classics and a minor in English. I was an honors student in Classics, and I was chosen to be the departmental tutor in Greek.
